IWPLMS- Austerity without end? Conference in Dublin

I was at this conference in Dublin. Very Interesting papers and good plenaries. I guess the main message is that austerity is causing social hardship and erosion of working conditions and erosion of all kinds of collective bargaining traditions and systems.

But moreover the message is that this crisis is not going to be resolved unless Germany starts to acknowledge the damage its policies have done in setting the preconditions for the Eurocrisis,  as well as admitting that its beggar-thy-neighbour strategy regarding wage compression and trade surpluses is the real reason we can’t get out of the crisis- it is impossible to emulate the German model because we can’t be all more competitive than our neighbour.
