I am not sure if this banking union is as such a good solution, but I think it is particularly harmful to challenge yet again a compromise-solution. The pattern seems to be: German politics agrees to some watered-down solution in the end, after which internally in Germany seek to challenge even the feeble compromise. I do not know what the role is of dissidents in the Bundesbank (or their supporters). But how is this all help resolving the crisis?
